Three years into a degree in Private and Commercial Law, Hennie found the world of accounting more alluring and subsequently completed a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Auditing. This opened the door to a number of Finance roles including Finance Manager at Marubeni Corporation and then Management Accountant with Duracell Batteries.

After moving to the UK from South Africa in 1997, Hennie was appointed management accountant at Steljes Ltd. His most significant achievements during his seven-year stint with them was project managing a £0.25 million, “first of its kind in the UK” integration of front and back office systems in a seamlessly integrated software solution. Hennie then went on to play a significant role in engineering an MBO, MBI and merger involving the Installation Division of Steljes. He was appointed FD of the new group after completing the transaction.

Hennie’s particular strengths at FD Solutions are in analysing corporate software systems and reporting on their fitness for purpose, then advising on suitable replacement systems and following through with Project Managing delivery of corporate systems.
