Internet Gaming:
Producing a financial model for management and investors
The Money Gaming Corporation is a Mill Hill-based internet
gaming company run by Liad Shababo and Jonathan Caplan, two
dynamic entrepreneurs who founded it and obtained an initial
round of private equity funding in 2004.
The company required a sophisticated set of projections covering
the next three years and comprising cashflow, profit &
loss account and balance sheet. Persuading investors of the
potential of your business can be frustrating if you don’t
have the numbers to back it up.
The client called in Simon
Walters, whose spreadsheet model formed the basis of the
finances in a presentation made to City institutions by Liad
and Jonathan and other members of the TMGC board. The first
iteration was prepared in less than a week and then discussed
with the client and fine-tuned speedily into a final version.
Our work included integration of equity injections, marketing
spend, player numbers and retention rates, and used graphs
and tables to demonstrate various sensitivities and key issues.
The company’s chief executive Liad Shababo commented:
“We were delighted with the dedication
and level of expertise which FD Solutions bought to the table.
The assignment was carried out in a speedy and professional
manner and the FDS team is a great asset to our business -
we look forward to working with them again.”
We maintain an ongoing working relationship with TMGC, liaising
with its directors and external advisers on issues including
VAT, offshore tax status, and its ambitious expansion plans.
The company doesn’t have a full-time finance director,
giving us the perfect opportunity to provide a broad range
of advisory services to this exciting business venture.
